A CNO is responsible for overlooking and coordinating an organization’s nursing department and all of its daily operations. A CNO is one of the highest C-suite positions in a healthcare organization. CNO’s advise senior management on the current top-standards in nursing, as well as develop budgets, patient-care programs, nurse recruitment training, and more. The CNO usually reports directly to the COO or CEO.
